Hey Bobby leave gc alone, this play is a lock & we need all the locks we can get!!!!!!! /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Thanks my man! But I was feeling very brave today and already grabbed them in a pick at even money. Since it is a lock +.5 -150 I better bet it huh?

i sent out this morning at pk even...guess we beat them to the punch! but have to admit anyone laying +.5-50 is pretty darn silly. i dont think i ever made that bet ever! sorry guys, but if you love the game that much bite the bullet DO THE CORRECT BET and lay pick -10.

NO kidding. Now Bobby, I'll give you a -12000 lock right now if you want. That's right, a guarantedd lock. In fact, why don't I give you the +.5 -16000000 lock instead.

Hopefully you all know there is no such thing as a lock. Vancouver +1/2 -145 was a smart move. Congrats to all who did play the game at a pick. Good luck in the future.

please enlighten us why that was a "smart move".

give me a break. dont be trying to fool the people here with that amateur hour crap.

In the NHL, you have alot of games that end in ties. Getting the 1/2 goal and a laying a little bigger money line was a smart move in our opinion. We're here to help. Lighten up kid.

sorry but it was NOT smart move.
and still waiting for your explanation "a lot of games end in ties" dont cut it. who was the sharper player? someone taking vancouver pick even or someone taking vancouver +.5 -45? in your opinion you laying $145 to win $100 was better than my betting $100 to win $100?

i am NOT trying to be a dick here, just pointing out that perhaps you might NOT know fundamentals of hockey betting...

When a game is a LOCK, Sure thing who cares what you lay, right? I will never understand why a tie scares bettors so much they will lay 50 cents to get it. Is a push so bad? is it worse then possibly losing another 50 cents? BTW congrats to us for grabbing the even early

Bottom line, You both won the same amount of money on the game. If Minn scores late and ties it and the game ends in a tie, then Pure Lock made the smart move and you don't say anything. It don't matter though because they won the game straight up and both of you made the exact same amount!!!

Good luck today!

"Bottom line, You both won the same amount of money on the game"

You are correct I just laid .50 cents less to win my dollar.

"If Minn scores late and ties it and the game ends in a tie, then Pure Lock made the smart move and you don't say anything"

And if the queen had balls she would be king. Thats like saying if Vancouver would have lost He would have lost a 1.50 and I only would have lost a 1.00 Capper got the right result making the wrong bet

you made the wrong play.
be a man and listen to those who know more about it than yourself. you will make more money in long run - bottom line.

Do you know who you are talking to?? I made the wrong play?? I won the same amount you did on the play. I had Vancouver +1/2 -145 also last night for a 5 unit play. I haven't won every year in the NHL and not know what I'm doing. I don't like getting into little pissy arguments on sites with people that don't know what they are talking about. Have much better things to do with my time.

Right result, wrong play. You won the bet and thats great but If you liked Vancouver enough to lay -150 +.5 you certainly must have liked them to win the game. If you have won every year in the NHL like you claim I know you did'nt do it taking half pucks and laying heavy wood. You could have reduced your risk by .50 cents for the same net win. If Van would have tied oh well take the push and move on. As far as Bobby not knowing what he is talking about I suggest you do a little more research before you speak or atleast read his book

Good luck

when reading some of posts here ive tried to tone down my responses to those who admit they arent really familiar with betting hockey, and to those who are just coming here to have good time, shoot the bull, show-off, etc. BUT whenever someone has a web site or service which is giving out fav's, well, the gloves are off. there are many who read these forums who think EVERYONE in the industry knows what they are doing, and believe it or not, it becomes vvvvvery difficult for me to maintain when guys - who say/think they know what they are doing - post responses like yourself. if you EVEN FOR A SECOND believe that laying +.5-45 is "a good play", id advise you keep it to yourself. otherwise, you open yourself up to vituperable condemnation...from guys like me who think its cool to use big words!

Didn't come here to start any trouble whatsoever. Vancouver +1/2 -145 was what I played last night and I won again and actually went 3-0. I'm glad you also won with your Vancouver even bet. Some people in NHL play Money Lines, some the Canadian line, and some the Puck line. Makes no difference who plays what as long as you win. I use the Canadian line. I've used it for 6 years now and have won every single year. Sometimes we may lay 1/2 sometimes we may take 1/2 goal. Sometimes we are dogs and sometimes we are favorites. The main thing is to beat the man. Thats what I do and hopefully thats what you do.

I came here merely stating that Both you and Pure Lock won the same amount of money on the game. Everybody handicaps games differently. There is no set rule that you have to play underdogs to win money in NHL or you have to play money lines, etc... I do wish you and this board the best of luck in your future NHL wagers!!

You can keep your +.5 lines, period.

You can keep any vig -111 or higher, period.

I don't care who is between the pipes, who the zebras are, who is hurt, who is back in the line up, and who got head before the game and who didn't. /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Good luck 2 ALL
